Apart from the fact I can’t help feel a bit miffed you’ve given this bloke the same first name as me (most Jacks are lovely, you know!), I do feel for you.

I’m a father of two small children, and I know how I worry about them from time to time even when I don’t have any reason to worry.

I am concerned about their online privacy however, and have recently stopped using their names on my blog (and given time, I’ll do the same with earlier entries) because I don’t want to give people something they can use in an attempt to pretend they know my family for whatever reason.

Something else that caused a slight frisson of worry was when I posted our holiday snaps on flickr. Most of the photos had been viewed about 6-10 times as of now; except for the one called ‘Boys in the bath’ (just a head-and-shoulders shot) which had 40 views.

40? You can’t help but worry. So that photo has been shifted to a friends and family only preference.

I can’t say anything that will improve your situation: all I can say is that you have my sympathy for the situation, and I hope that either you – or he – moves on quickly.

I would suggest that you be careful about what you’re doing here too: don’t give away identifiable information and so on, ‘cos it wouldn’t help matters if YOU ended up in trouble either.
